Account deletion

delete your Loopfam account.

You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, right from the app. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email instead.

How to delete your account

In the app (quickest)

  1. Step 1: Open Loopfam and go to your profile

    Sign in if you need to, then tap the person icon on the right of the bottom bar. That opens the You screen.

  2. Step 2: Tap Delete account

    It's near the bottom of the screen, under Blocked people. You'll see exactly what will be deleted.

  3. Step 3: Enter your password and confirm

    Type your password, tap Delete my account, then confirm. Your account and data are deleted straight away and you're signed out.

Without the app

Deleted the app or can't sign in? Ask us by email instead.

  1. Step 1: Email us from your account's address

    Tap the button below, or write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Loopfam account”. Send it from the email address you use to sign in so we know the account is yours. If you want copies of your photos first, say so and we'll send a download link.

  2. Step 2: We confirm it's you

    We reply to say we've got your request. If you wrote from a different address, we'll ask you to prove the account is yours before we delete anything.

  3. Step 3: Your account is deleted

    We delete your account and data within 30 days and email you when it's done.

Can't send email? Use the contact form, pick Privacy, and include the email address on your account.

Groups you started

Your groups stay open for everyone else. Each one is handed to another member, an admin if there is one, otherwise whoever has been in it longest. A group with nobody else in it is deleted.

What we delete

  • Your account, name, email address and profile photo
  • Every photo and video you added, and any share links to them
  • Your captions, comments, reactions and favorites
  • Your notification settings and the device tokens we use to send them
  • Analytics data linked to your account

What we keep, and for how long

Deleting in the app removes everything above immediately. Email requests are done within 30 days. Either way, it's cleared from our backups within 30 days. The only exception is anything the law requires us to keep, such as records of reports about illegal content. Those are held only as long as we're legally required to and are never used for anything else.

Just want to remove some things?

You don't have to delete your whole account. Email [email protected] from your account's address and tell us which photos, videos or comments you'd like removed. We'll delete just those within 30 days and keep your account open.
